In the past five years, Zhongyuan District's GDP has reached 70.93 billion yuan, a record high, and its general public budget revenue has reached 5.44 billion yuan, double that at the end of the 12thFive-Year Plan Period. Fixed asset investments totaled 162.15 billion yuan, 1.66 times those at the end of the 12thFive-Year Plan period, representing an average annual increase of 10.5%. The industrial structure has also continued to improve, with a ratio of 31.7 secondary industries to 68.3 tertiary industries, a 10 percentage point increase in the proportion of service industries. The science and technology service industry flourished, with its added value reaching 13 billion yuan, accounting for 18.3 percent of district GDP.
近五年來，鄭州市中原區GDP已突破700億大關，達到709.3億元，一般公共預算收入達到54.4億元，總量均較「十二五」末翻一番。固定資產投資累計完成1621.5億元，是「十二五」末的1.66倍，年均增長10.5%。產業結構持續優化，三次產業比調整為0∶31.7∶68.3，服務業占比提高10個百分點。科技服務業蓬勃發展，產業增加值達130億元，占GDP比重達18.3%。

Projects are the first priority, as old economic growth drivers are replaced with new ones. Focusing on project construction, Zhongyuan District has invested a total of 132.8 billion yuan into 317 key projects, and has been awarded the Zhengzhou Advanced Collective for Opening Up for five consecutive years. Industry leaders including ByteDance, Didi and WeDoctor have been introduced to fill the gap in the digital economy, while the Overseas Chinese Town and Jinke Jialu Town projects have been brought in to drive the development of the leisure industry, and the Galaxy Group has been invited to develop and operate the Zhengzhou Ersha Cultural and Creative Park. With the introduction of Fortune Global 500 companies including SINOPEC and PowerChina, as well as some of the top 500 Chinese companies including WEGO and REALCAN, Zhongyuan District has made great efforts to develop the headquarters economy, steadily replacing the old growth drivers with new ones.

The goal is to develop into a culturally rich area. Zhongyuan District has been encouraging economic and industrial development based on culture, resulting in a growing artistic vibrance. The Zhengzhou Olympic Sports Center, Zhengzhou Grand Theater, Zhengzhou Museum and Zhengzhou Art Museum have hosted a number of top domestic and international events after they were opened. Centering on the Zhongyuan District Library and the Zhongyuan District Cultural Center, the area has spawned 14 sub-district libraries, 15 community libraries, 4 city study rooms and 2 24-hour microlibraries. The district has carried out more than 600 popular cultural activities and established a demonstration area for the national public cultural service system.
文化強區，打造高地。中原區圍繞文化謀發展、抓建設、築產業、興事業，文化中原激發新活力。奧體中心、大劇院、博物館、美術館等建成投用，承接了多項國內外頂尖賽事。形成以中原區圖書館、中原區文化館為中心，14個街道級分館、15個社區分館、4個城市書房、2個24小時微圖為延伸的圖書館總體網絡。開展各類文化惠民活動600餘場，成功創建國家公共文化服務體系示範區。

Zhongyuan District has been prioritizing ecological environment in the coordinated development. It has made great efforts in improving air quality and finding uses for black water while building an ecological water system. There have been aspects of landscaping as well, creating a pattern of integrated forests, gardens, and rivers in the city. Each step you take reveals new scenery, with blooming flowers in three seasons and evergreen trees all year round.

Zhongyuan District has been sharing the benefits of development with the population. Spending on general welfare improvements in Zhongyuan District has been kept at more than 75 percent of its general public budget spending, totaling 13.866 billion yuan, 1.88 times that of the 12thFive-Year Plan Period. The district has accelerated its efforts to make itself a "smart" city, to construct resettlement housing and build or renovate primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. This has resulted in a coverage rate of 82.7 percent between state-run kindergartens and inclusive private kindergartens. A total of 332 million yuan in government subsidies has been allocated to ensure that any residents in need are able to make ends meet, and basic old-age insurance for urban and rural residents and basic medical insurance for urban residents have been fully covered. Thirty-nine medical institutions have joined the medical union, establishing the pattern of hierarchical diagnosis and rapid treatment, while 15 community health service centers and 26 community health service stations have been established so that citizens can access medical and health services within 15 minutes. In the past five years, Zhongyuan District has continued to release reform and development dividends to improve people's well-being.
共享發展，幸福中原。中原區民生投入穩定在一般公共預算支出比例的75%以上，財政民生累計支出138.66億元，是「十二五」的1.88倍。加快「智慧城市」建設，加快安置房建設，加大新建改建中小學、幼兒園力度，公辦幼兒園和普惠性民辦幼兒園覆蓋率達到82.7%；實施困難群體托底保障，累計安排財政補助資金3.32億元；城鄉基本養老參保率和城鎮基本醫療參保率實現全覆蓋；39家醫療機構加入醫聯體，「分級診療」就醫格局加快構建；社區衛生服務中心達到15家、社區衛生服務站26個，基本形成「15分鐘醫療衛生服務圈」。近五年，中原區持續釋放改革發展紅利，增進民生福祉。
