看來，「元旦」叫New Year’s Day（注意大寫）。順便說一下，今天是「元旦」，那麼昨天就是「元旦前夜」，它的英文說法是New Year’s Eve。
在英語詞典里的解釋：New Year's Eve is the last day of the year, the day before New Year's Day. 元旦前夜是一年的最後一天，也即元旦的前一天。（eve既指前夜，我們在聖誕節英語中介紹過這個，聖誕前夜也就是平安夜叫 Christmas Eve）。
