學習英語中，我們會遇到很多「坑」。比如一個詞首字母大小寫區分開就有了完全不一樣的意思。
舉個常見的例子：Japan是「日本」，japan卻是指日本的「漆器「，或者一種日本「亮漆」塗料。
同時japan還可以作動詞，表示「在…上塗漆，塗漆使…光亮」，過去式、過去分詞是japanned，現在分詞是japanning。
舉個例子：

其實，除了Japan/japan，因首字母大小寫導致意思不同的英語單詞還有很多。
☞國家/地區/城市名字類的有：
china 中國
china 瓷器
The produce was labelled "Made in China."
該產品上貼有「中國製造」的標籤。
Xiaojiang uses her good china when she has company for dinner.
有賓客來吃飯時，小醬就用質量好的瓷餐具。
Shanghai 上海
shanghai 誘拐，誘騙

上海是中國一個東部沿海城市。
Xiaojiang shanghaied him into buying her a mink coat.
小醬用誘騙的手段迫使他買給她一件貂皮大衣。
Turkey 土耳其
turkey 火雞；失敗；笨蛋/草包；
We raise turkeys mainly for the Christmas market.
我們飼養火雞主要是為了供應聖誕節期間的市場。
His latest movie is a real turkey.

【注意】這裡加了定冠詞the，後面john首字母小寫，指的是「盥洗室，廁所」，尤指男公共廁所。
