demand，require和Request都可以表示「請求，要求」,但是用法不同：
1.demand表示「要求，需要」時，語氣較強，有強烈要求的含義，表示行為者認為自己有權這樣做。（尤指困難、使人勞累、令人煩惱等的）要求;還可以表示需求，如客戶需求。
主語是人時，表示堅決要求，堅持要做某事；主語是物時，指迫切需要。
demand後面接of sb. to do sth.
Our teacher demanded of us to finish homework.
我們的老師要求我們完成作業。
She demanded an immediate explanation.
她強烈要求立即作出解釋。
Mr Byers last night demanded an immediate explanation from the Education Secretary
昨晚拜爾斯先生要求教育大臣立刻作出解釋。
She demands that she be told everything. 她要求把一切都告訴她。

2. require表示依據權利、條例、規章而「要求」，帶有命令語氣，常用於被動語態，語氣比demand緩和。這裡的「要求」是指一定要有的東西和條件。側重於少了這個不行，不被接受。尤其表示按照法規、權利提出的要求或命令：
We shall fulfill our obligations as required by law.
我們應當根據法律的要求履行自己的義務。
The wearing of seat belts is required by law.
法律規定必須系安全帶。
The police required the traveler to unlock his suitcase.
警察要求這位旅客將手提箱打開。
All candidates will be required to take a short test.
所有候選者都要參加一個小測驗。

ask也可表示「要求」，指的是要求某人做某事或向某人要求什麼東西。
She asked me for help. 她請求我幫助。
He will ask his father for more money. 他將請求父親多給一些錢。
3. request表示客氣有禮貌的正式請求、要求。（禮貌、正式的）要求，請求；一般是帶有「請求」的含義。指通過正式手續提出的要求，口氣和緩，態度禮貌。鄭重地要求和希望時，用request。
Visitors are requested not to smoke in the hall。在大廳要求賓客們禁菸。
You are requested not to talk here. 這裡請勿交談。
They requested a loan. 他們請求貸款。

Request、require、demand後面跟賓語從句時，從句後謂語動詞都要用虛擬語氣，即should加動詞原形。（名詞性從句也是如此）

這裡的request可以替換成require 和demand。
